Magic: The Gathering is a collectible card game created by Richard Garfield in 1993 and edited by Wizards of the Coast (now a subsidiary of Hasbro).
 
The Beta edition was released in October 1993 shortly after the original Alpha edition sold out. It comprises 302 cards.
